Lagos island has the tallest building in Nigeria; NECOM House (formerly NITEL Tower and before that, the NET Building) is a skyscraper located in Marina, Lagos island, the 32-story building was completed in 1979, and houses the headquarters of NITEL.
Let me give a little gist about Eyo in Lagos Island, as you will see it as one of the significant signs when you drive into Lagos.The Eyo Festival, otherwise known as the Adimu Orisha Play, is a Yoruba festival unique to Lagos, Nigeria. In modern times, it is presented by the people of Lagos as a tourist event and due to its history, is traditionally performed on Lagos Island.
Third mainland bridge. Third Mainland Bridge is the longest of three bridges connecting Lagos Island to the mainland, the other are the Eko and Carter bridges. It was the longest bridge in Africa until 1996 when the 6th October Bridge located in Cairo was completed. The bridge starts from Oworonshoki which is linked to the Apapa-Oshodi expressway and Lagos-Ibadan expressway, and ends at the Adeniji Adele Interchange on Lagos Island.
Freedom Park is one of the Best place to visit on the island. Freedom Park is a memorial and leisure park area in the middle of downtown Lagos. Built on a road that was formerly the broad street prison, it has now evolved into a leisure park where people organize shows and concerts. The Park was constructed to preserve the history and cultural heritage of Nigerians as seen in its strategically placed monumental figures. It’s definitely one of the spots to visit in Lagos.
One of the Peaceful place on the island, Phase 4.Phase 4 is located on Adeniji Adele Road, Lagos Island, Phase 4 is part of the low costing estate built by the Former Governor of Lagos, Alhaji Lateef Jakande built for the Lagosians to live a better and comfortable house. Phase 4 is directly opposite the Lagos Island Local Government Office.
